The modern Western saddle was developed from the Spanish saddles that were brought to the Americas by the Spanish Conquistadors. These saddles were modified to suit the needs of the early vaqueros americanos.
With a strong horse and a reliable saddle, America's early caballeros were able to push the frontier and expand westward. They were able to establish communities that cemented the foothold of American society farther and farther away from Jamestown. With them, America grew.
While the saddle no longer relevant to most modern urban lifestyles, we cannot deny its role in forming our nation.
And so we have this saddle gold ring to commemorate the saddles that made who we are today.
